Power Bars
Power Bars are meant for the “big 3” powerlifting lifts: back squat, bench press and deadlift. These lifts are what powerlifting competitions are all about. But over the years they have also been embraced as good lifts for pretty much anyone to do, over a wide range of goals and training styles, so power bars are what you’ll see at commercial gyms and lots of other places.

There are also extra-long deadlift bars that are another special type of bar.

Power bars, or powerlifting bars, feature:

Powerlifting bar

The bar is straight and well knurled and grooved and confirm to the following dimensions:

1. Total overall length not to exceed 2.2m
2. Distance between the collar faces is not exceed 1.32m or be less than 1.31m.
3. Diameter of the bar is not exceed 29mm or be less than 28mm
4. weight of the bar and collars are to be 25 kg
5. diameter of the sleeve not to exceed 52 mm or less than 50 mm
6. there shall be a diameter machined marking or the bar taped so as to measure 81 cm between marking or tape
